This project involved acoustic optimization for a mid-sized modern open-plan office. Prior to the upgrade, the space suffered from prolonged reverberation and excessive background noise due to large glass partitions, hard wall surfaces and tiled floors. Employees reported difficulty concentrating during focused work and poor speech clarity during team discussions.
The design team selected recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels as the core wall treatment, with partial ceiling baffles added for enhanced performance. With an NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, the panels effectively absorb mid-to-high frequency noise from conversations, keyboard clicks and office equipment. The modular panel layout was customized to match the office’s minimalist interior style, with color options coordinated with the overall brand tone.
Post-installation acoustic testing showed a 35% reduction in overall background noise and reverberation time reduced to the recommended range for office environments. Employee feedback confirmed improved focus, reduced auditory fatigue and a more comfortable working atmosphere. The project demonstrates that polyester fiber panels are a cost-effective, aesthetically flexible solution for commercial office acoustic renovations.
