Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panels for Children’s Education Center Acoustic Renovation

Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panels

This project focused on acoustic improvement for a medium-sized children’s education and training center. The original space had hard painted walls and tiled floors, resulting in strong sound reflection. During class hours, overlapping voices from different classrooms and activity areas created a noisy environment, which not only affected teaching efficiency but also raised concerns about indoor environmental protection for young children.

The project team selected recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels as the core wall treatment material. Made of 100% recycled PET fiber, the panels are formaldehyde-free, non-toxic and odorless, fully meeting the strict indoor air quality requirements for children’s spaces. With an NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, the panels effectively absorb mid-to-high frequency noise such as children’s chatter and activity sounds, reducing cross-sound interference between classrooms. A variety of soft color options were adopted to match the lively and warm spatial style of the education center.

The lightweight panels were installed by glue pasting, with a short construction period and no dust pollution, which did not affect the normal operation of the center for a long time. After completion, the overall noise level of the space decreased significantly, the reverberation time reached the standard for educational spaces, and the indoor environmental protection indicators all passed the test. This case fully proves that polyester fiber acoustic panels are the ideal acoustic solution for children’s education spaces with both safety, environmental protection and noise reduction effects.
