
Project Overview
Acoustic renovation for a premium healthcare and wellness center, covering consultation rooms, treatment rooms, public waiting areas and corridors, with a total area of 2,100㎡. The original lightweight partition walls and hard wall finishes cause noticeable inter-room sound leakage, and consultation conversations can be easily overheard, presenting privacy compliance risks. Meanwhile, indoor echo intensifies the tense clinical atmosphere, which contradicts the brand’s healing and relaxing positioning. The facility requires acoustic materials that support daily wiping and disinfection, meet medical-grade low VOC and fire safety standards, and integrate with the soft, high-end interior aesthetic.
Solution Deployment
The solution adopts a dual-system zoned treatment system:
- Consultation rooms & treatment rooms: Fitted with full-height high-density fiberglass core fabric wrapped acoustic panels, NRC 0.85–1.0. The outer layer uses medical-grade stain-resistant flame-retardant fabric, supporting daily wiping and disinfection. The panels effectively reduce airborne sound transmission between rooms and protect the privacy of doctor-patient consultations. A warm and soft color palette is selected to create a calming and healing atmosphere.
- Public waiting areas & corridors: Uses perforated acoustic panels with mineral wool backing, NRC 0.80+, controlling reverberation in public areas. The panel surface is smooth, dense and easy to clean, fitting the minimalist medical aesthetic.
All materials meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety standards and ultra-low VOC emission requirements, fully complying with medical institution norms. The project is constructed in phases room by room, with a construction period of 18 days, and some clinics remain open during the period.
Project Outcome
Inter-room sound leakage in consultation areas is effectively eliminated, and one-to-one consultation dialogue remains fully private, meeting medical privacy compliance requirements. Indoor echo is significantly reduced, the space atmosphere is softer and calmer, and patients generally report a more relaxed and comfortable visit experience. All materials withstand daily clinical disinfection routines, and the project successfully passes hygiene and fire acceptance assessments for medical institutions.
