Fabric Wrapped Acoustic Panels | Hybrid Meeting & Video Conference Room, Sydney, Australia

fabric wrapped acoustic panel

Project Overview

This acoustic upgrade is for a multi-functional hybrid meeting suite of an international tech enterprise in Sydney, Australia. The suite includes 3 medium-sized video conference rooms and one open discussion lounge. Glass partitions and hard plaster surfaces bring excessive reflection and echo. Remote participants in online meetings hear muddy, reverberant audio, and confidential conversations lack sound privacy. The client required soft fabric panels with customizable colour, good NRC performance and clean appearance.

Solution Configuration

  • All meeting room inner walls are covered with fabric wrapped acoustic panels. The fiberglass core absorbs mid-high frequency speech reflection, improving pickup clarity for conference microphones and boosting speech privacy.
  • The open lounge ceiling adopts flat smooth fiberglass acoustic ceiling tiles (no texture, no fleece) to reduce cross-talk between different discussion zones. All panels meet AS/NZS 3837 fire and indoor air quality standards. Installation was finished after working hours to avoid office disruption.

Project Results

After treatment, room reverberation dropped below 0.7s. Remote meeting audio is crisp and intelligible. Speech privacy is significantly improved for confidential internal discussions. The fabric colour matches the brand’s office interior design, and the project passed the client’s acceptance.
