Fiberglass Acoustic Ceiling Panels for Large Corporate Staff Canteen Acoustic Project

fiberglass acoustic ceiling

This project was the ceiling acoustic renovation of a large enterprise staff canteen that can accommodate thousands of people. The original mineral wool ceiling had poor sound absorption effect. During peak meal times, the sound of conversations, tableware collisions and kitchen equipment operation was superimposed and echoed, the dining environment was noisy, and communication was laborious. As a high-frequency catering space, there are also strict requirements on fire protection, oil stain resistance and moisture resistance of ceiling materials.

Fiberglass acoustic ceiling panels were selected for the overall ceiling replacement of the canteen. Made of inorganic high-density glass fiber, the panels have inherent Class A fire resistance, low smoke and non-toxicity, fully meeting the fire safety standards of large catering places. The interconnected porous structure has an ultra-high NRC of 0.90–0.95, which can effectively absorb crowd chatter, tableware noise and kitchen equipment background sound, and improve the overall dining acoustic environment.

At the same time, the panels have excellent oil stain resistance, moisture resistance and mildew resistance, are easy to clean and maintain, adapt to the complex environment of the catering space, and do not sag or deform after long-term use. After the project was put into use, the overall noise of the canteen during peak hours decreased by 37%, the dining environment was more comfortable, and employees could communicate normally without raising their voices. The durable and easy-to-maintain ceiling system also effectively reduces the later operation and maintenance costs of the enterprise.
