Project Overview
This acoustic upgrade project covers the full showroom, customer negotiation areas and delivery bays of a premium luxury auto dealership in Southern California, USA, with a total area of 3,800 ㎡. The original high-ceiling space features polished stone floors, full-height glass facades and hard display walls, resulting in long reverberation time and obvious sound accumulation during peak visiting hours. Sales presentations were often interrupted by ambient noise, and private negotiation rooms lacked sufficient speech privacy. The dealer required acoustic solutions that match the premium brand aesthetic while meeting US commercial building fire and environmental codes.
Solution Configuration
- Main showroom ceiling: Full coverage of cement-bonded wood wool acoustic ceiling panels with an NRC rating of 0.80–0.90. The fine uniform texture complements the modern luxury showroom design while efficiently controlling overall spatial reverberation. The dense hard finish is dust-resistant and easy to maintain, adapting to high-footfall retail scenarios.
- Negotiation rooms & private lounges: High-density fiberglass core fabric wrapped acoustic panels (NRC 0.85–1.0) are installed on main wall surfaces, reducing inter-room sound leakage and ensuring conversation privacy. Custom colour matching aligns with the brand’s premium interior visual system.
All materials carry ASTM E84 Class A fire certification and meet low VOC emission requirements. The project was constructed in phases during off-hours, with a total construction period of 32 days, no disruption to daily sales operations.
Project Results
Post-completion testing shows peak-hour ambient noise in the main showroom drops by 37%, and reverberation time reaches the recommended standard for high-end commercial retail spaces. Sales presentation clarity improves significantly, and negotiation room speech privacy fully meets customer confidentiality requirements. The acoustic system integrates seamlessly with the luxury showroom aesthetic and has passed brand terminal acceptance and local building fire inspection.
