Craft brewery taprooms typically feature high exposed ceilings, concrete walls and hard flooring, creating severe reverberation across the space. During peak hours, customer chatter, glass clinking and background music overlap heavily, forcing patrons to raise their voices and creating a loud, fatiguing atmosphere. Excessive noise lowers customer dwell time and hurts the overall casual, social brand experience. Owners require durable, visually compatible acoustic solutions that fit the industrial-modern taproom aesthetic.
Solution
100% recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels were installed on upper walls and pillar surfaces throughout the taproom. With a stable NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, the porous PET material effectively absorbs mid-to-high frequency crowd noise and reduces flutter echo. The formaldehyde-free, low-VOC panels meet commercial indoor air quality standards. Custom dark and accent color options were selected to match the brewery’s industrial branding, and the impact-resistant material stands up to high-traffic hospitality use.
Results
Post-installation testing showed a noticeable drop in ambient noise during peak service. Patrons can hold conversations at normal volume without straining, and average customer stay time increased by 32%. The panels integrate seamlessly with the taproom’s industrial interior, improving comfort while reinforcing the venue’s modern brand identity.
