
Indoor basketball gymnasiums have large open spaces, hard floors and high ceilings, creating strong low-frequency reverberation. Ball bouncing noise, footsteps, shouting and venue broadcast sounds overlap and echo continuously, making the sound field muddy and noisy. Ordinary acoustic panels cannot handle low-frequency standing wave noise in sports venues.
The project installed grooved and perforated resonant acoustic panels on surrounding walls. Based on Helmholtz resonance principle, the panels specially absorb stubborn 250Hz–1000Hz mid-low frequency noise. Matched with rear acoustic cotton and air cavities, the overall NRC reaches 0.90, realizing full-band sound optimization. Hard wood veneer provides impact resistance suitable for sports scenarios.
After renovation, venue reverberation time meets standard sports hall acoustic requirements. Broadcast sound is clear and uniform, and indoor noise chaos is greatly improved. The optimized acoustic environment reduces athlete fatigue and improves overall venue usability.
