Project Challenge
This residential podcast and voice recording studio was built from a spare room with standard drywall and hardwood floors, resulting in strong room reverb and flutter echo. Raw vocal recordings sounded hollow and muddy with noticeable room tone, requiring heavy post-production editing and lowering final audio quality. The client required a non-destructive, eco-friendly acoustic solution that could be installed without major renovation and would deliver broadcast-level vocal clarity.
Solution
100% recycled polyester fiber acoustic panels were mounted on all four walls and ceiling reflection points. With a stable NRC rating of 0.85–0.95, the porous PET material absorbs mid-to-high frequency reflected sound and eliminates standing wave coloration, delivering dry, clean vocal capture. The panels are formaldehyde-free with ultra-low VOC emissions, safe for long hours of enclosed studio use. Lightweight adhesive and modular installation required no drilling or structural changes, preserving the original room finish.
Results
Post-installation acoustic testing confirmed reverberation time optimized for voice recording. Recorded vocals are crisp, neutral and free of hollow room resonance, cutting post-production editing time by nearly 40%. The clean matte panel finish creates a professional, focused recording atmosphere. The project delivers studio-grade acoustic performance in a residential space with zero construction damage.
