Project Challenge

This cultural and creative industrial park was renovated from a decommissioned industrial factory. The original high concrete ceiling, exposed structural beams and hard brick walls created a strong industrial aesthetic but also caused severe long reverberation. After being converted into creative office spaces, exhibition areas and shared lounges, the scattered noise from people, conversations and equipment echoed continuously, seriously affecting the usability of the space. The park operator required acoustic treatment that would preserve the raw industrial heritage style rather than covering it with conventional flat decorative panels.

Solution

Cement-bonded wood wool acoustic panels were installed across the full ceiling of the public and office areas. The natural spruce fiber-cement texture retains the rugged, authentic industrial character of the original factory, requiring no additional paint or finishing layers. With an NRC of 0.80–0.90, the open fiber structure effectively absorbs scattered crowd noise and reduces overall reverberation in the high-ceiling space. The panels carry Class A fire resistance and excellent moisture stability, fully meeting the building code requirements for commercial renovated industrial spaces.

Results

After the upgrade, reverberation across the park’s public and office areas was significantly reduced, and spatial acoustic comfort improved greatly. The raw textured ceiling became a core design highlight of the park, perfectly combining industrial heritage style with modern functional comfort. The acoustic optimization effectively increased tenant satisfaction and rental appeal, supporting the park’s positioning as a high-end cultural and creative industry cluster.
