Fabric Series Medical-Grade Panels | Premium Dermatology & Aesthetics Clinic, Zurich, Switzerland

dermatology clinic acoustics

Project Background

This 2,300 sq ft premium dermatology and aesthetics clinic in central Zurich includes 9 treatment rooms, a skin care lounge and consultation suites. Original thin partitions and hard clinical surfaces caused clear inter-room sound leakage. Laser equipment noise, injection treatment sounds and consultation conversations were easily overheard, compromising patient privacy and increasing pre-treatment anxiety. The project required wipeable, hygienic acoustic materials matching the calm luxury clinic aesthetic, compliant with Swiss healthcare building codes.

Acoustic Solution

All treatment and consultation rooms are lined with full-height fabric wrapped acoustic panels from the Fabric Series. Built around a high-density Owens Corning fiberglass core delivering NRC 0.85–1.0, the panels use medical-grade stain-resistant flame-retardant fabric that supports daily wipe-down disinfection. They absorb internal reflections, eliminate flutter echo and cut airborne sound transmission between rooms to protect patient privacy and reduce anxiety. Panels are custom fabricated in the factory to exact room heights, with a soft neutral matte finish matching the clinic’s upscale interior design. All materials use low-VOC adhesives suitable for enclosed medical environments.

Project Outcomes

  • Inter-room sound leakage reduced by 43%
  • Patient pre-treatment anxiety scores decreased by 35% per clinic satisfaction surveys
  • All materials withstand daily clinical disinfection with no performance degradation
  • Products meet ASTM E84 Class A fire safety and medical indoor air quality standards
