Project Overview Indoor multi-sport training hall in Melbourne, area 4700㎡, for basketball, badminton and group fitness training. High roof, hard floor and block walls create heavy reverberation. Ball impact sound, shouting and equipment collision noise keep bouncing, making coach instruction hard to hear. Requirements: impact-resistant, dust-resistant acoustic system, suitable for high-intensity sports environment, meet Australian commercial fire standard.
Solution Configuration The whole hall ceiling adopted high-density rigid fiberglass acoustic ceiling panels, NRC 0.85–0.92, control overhead sound reflection and reduce overall reverberation. Movable partition zones between different training courts used modular MLV sound insulation assembly system, isolating noise cross interference between basketball court and quiet fitness zone. Panel surface is impact-resistant, easy to sweep and clean. All materials comply with AS/NZS fire and indoor air quality requirements.
Project Result Space reverberation time reduced from 2.2s to 1.0–1.2s. Sound cross leakage between different training zones decreased by 37%. Coach voice instruction becomes clear under normal training noise. Acoustic panels withstand daily sports impact and regular cleaning.
