Project Overview
This indoor multi-function sports hall in Perth is 1,680 ㎡, used for basketball, badminton and community events. The large volume and hard wall surfaces created severe echo and long reverberation. Announcement voice was difficult to understand during matches and activities. The owner required acoustic materials that withstand impact and frequent cleaning.
Solution Configuration
Upper wall sections around the court adopted perforated acoustic wood panels. Lower wall zones prone to impact were fitted with impact-resistant polyester acoustic panels. Suspended acoustic baffles were arranged at intervals on the ceiling to shorten reverberation. All materials satisfy ASTM E84 fire standards.
Project Result
Reverberation was greatly suppressed, and broadcast announcements became clear without echo. The mixed material layout balances decorative effect and impact resistance. Perforated acoustic wood panels deliver stable mid-frequency absorption, while polyester panels protect the lower wall from collision damage.
