This project covered acoustic and aesthetic upgrade for a high-end boutique café. The original space featured concrete walls, tiled floors and a bare ceiling, resulting in strong sound reflection. During peak hours, customer conversations and background music created a noisy, harsh acoustic environment, which reduced dining comfort and length of stay.
Wood wool acoustic panels were chosen for both ceiling and feature wall treatment, balancing sound absorption and decorative texture. Made from natural wood fiber and cement binder, the panels have a unique raw, matte texture that complements the café’s warm industrial style. With an NRC of 0.80–0.90, they effectively reduce mid-high frequency reverberation from crowd chatter and tableware noise.
Beyond acoustic performance, the panels offer Class A fire resistance and excellent moisture resistance, suitable for long-term commercial catering operation. After completion, the café’s ambient noise level dropped significantly, creating a quiet, cozy atmosphere. The natural wood texture also enhanced the space’s sense of quality, achieving the dual goals of acoustic optimization and interior aesthetic upgrade.
